InstantCV

1. Who Can Use InstantCV

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must notify InstantCV promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
InstantCV reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these terms, or are inactive for an extended period, subject to applicable law.

3. Description of InstantCV

InstantCV provides an online resume/CV builder, including customizable templates, an AI-assisted writing tool for generating summaries, work experience, and skills content, PDF export, and cloud auto-save of your documents. InstantCV is currently free to use (see Section 5).

4. Your Content

Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the personal information, work history, and other content you input into your resume. InstantCV does not claim ownership over your content.

License to InstantCV

By using InstantCV, you grant InstantCV a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide and improve the service (e.g., rendering your resume, generating PDF exports, powering the AI writing assistant).

AI-generated content

Suggestions generated by the AI assistant are provided as drafting aid only. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying the accuracy of any AI-generated text before use, including its truthfulness and suitability for job applications.

Templates and design assets

All templates, layouts, graphics, and branding on InstantCV remain the intellectual property of InstantCV or its licensors. You may use them to create and export your own resume but may not resell, redistribute, or repackage the templates themselves.

5. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

InstantCV currently operates on a free basis. Paid subscription plans are not yet active, and no payment is required to use InstantCV at this time.
If and when paid plans are introduced, this section will be updated to describe the applicable pricing, billing cycle (monthly or yearly), and payment processor. Continued use of InstantCV after such an update takes effect will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
All fees, once introduced, will be non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use InstantCV for any unlawful purpose or to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information on a resume intended to deceive an employer;
Upload malicious code, attempt to breach security, or interfere with InstantCV's operation;
Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell InstantCV or its templates without authorization;
Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.

InstantCV reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

7. Intellectual Property

InstantCV, including its software, design, templates, and trademarks (excluding your content), is owned by InstantCV and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any such rights to you beyond the limited license to use InstantCV as intended.

8. Third-Party Services

InstantCV may integrate with third-party providers (e.g., payment processors, cloud storage, analytics, AI providers). Your use of those integrations may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which InstantCV encourages you to review.

9. Disclaimers

InstantCV is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that InstantCV will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. InstantCV does not guarantee employment outcomes, interview requests, or job offers as a result of using resumes created through InstantCV.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, InstantCV and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of InstantCV. InstantCV's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid InstantCV in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold InstantCV harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of InstantCV.

12. Termination

InstantCV may suspend or terminate your access at its discretion if you breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible. You may stop using InstantCV and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

InstantCV may update or modify these terms at any time, at its sole discretion, without prior notice. Changes take effect as soon as the revised terms are posted on this page, with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of InstantCV after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. You are encouraged to review this page periodically.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or InstantCV will be resolved in the competent courts of Cameroon, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence.
